“Did I just hear him correctly?” I thought to myself.

Turning to face him while he sat at the kitchen table, it was clear that I’d heard his request accurately. I’d made a steak dinner with all the fixings, and while my back was turned and busy preparing dessert, he said he had too much meat and asked if I would share it with him.

Turning back to stare at the strawberry shortcake I was layering, I could tell my face was red. I knew he was trying to get a rise out of me, and it worked. I had a feeling that when I turned around again, I wouldn’t be looking at his steak…
